Grumpy’s Pet Shop

It’s great to have such a small, quality and affordable pet shop in Cambridge in the form of Grumpy’s.
They stock everything you could want for your pet, with plenty of dog and cat toys, and even have a live-in pet in the form of Lulu the bird.

Excellent shop: The staff were very generous with their time in helping me select chews that didn’t include my dog’s allergens.
If you can’t get to them in person, they have free delivery within 6 miles of their Chesterton store provided that you spend £15. This is delivered by Jason, who also offers very reasonably priced pet sitting! If you can call before 10am, then you can even get same day delivery.
Poochie Parlour

Poochie Parlour are a family-owned dog groomers, but they do also stock a good selection of toys, treats, food and more in their shop in Arbury Court.

Family business run by women who really care about providing an excellent personalised service.
This is the place to go in Cambridge if your dog needs nail clipping, hand stripping, ear cleaning and more, as you will get a much more personal service than at the large chain stores.
Just for Pets

Just for Pets are a large and very well-stocked pet shop in Barnwell Road, Cambridge.
They’ve got everything you could possibly want, and are best accessed by car, although they are walkable from central Cambridge.
You can pick up deli boxes for your dog, plus get pet supplies for pretty much every other type of pet, from hamsters to reptiles and fish.

The massive selection of natural treats and food just can’t be beat and the staff were incredibly helpful and so friendly.
This is a really great place to take your dog, as long as they can behave around shelves and shelves of treats!
Pets at Home Cambridge

Pets at Home is the pet shop in the Beehive Centre, Cambridge, and has everything you would expect of this chain store, with a basic vets and dog grooming service.
With long opening hours, this is the place for those night time emergencies.

Maidenhead Aquatics Cambridge

If you have fish, then the Cambridge branch of Maidenhead Aquatics at Orchard Garden Centre is the place to go.
You can get filters, pumps, fish medication and pretty much anything else you might need for your aquarium.

Cambridge Reptiles and Exotics

For specialists in reptiles, then look no further than Cambridge Reptiles and Exotics just outside of town.
Note that they are closed Tuesdays and Thursdays, but are open weekends, although as this is a small, independent shop, opening hours are more restricted than the chain stores and you might want to call first before making a special journey.

If you need horse supplies, then The Ark to the south-east of Cambridge is the place to go.

Grumpy’s pet shop and Pets at Home are the only two pet shops in Cambridge city centre, with Just for Pets a little further out down Barnwell Road.
